Reiki is a system of natural healing that involves balancing energy to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself.  It works by restoring the Life Force Energy, also known as Chi. Reiki is administered by using light touch on various parts of the body to aid in deep relaxation and to increase the flow of energy. Reiki is a holistic, alternative therapy that uses gentle touch to help the individual relax and release stress, enabling the body systems to move into a state of balance and harmony. Reiki is a Japanese word that means “Universal Life Force Energy.” Life Force Energy exists in our bodies and moves through our energy field, chakras or energy centers, and the pathways called meridians. Energetic blockages or imbalances can result in pain, inflammation or illness. Reiki works to restore the natural flow of energy in order to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself. When Reiki is allowed to flow freely through the organs and tissues, it opens blocked passages, reactivates energy centers and gives balance to the Ki of the entire body, restoring health and wholeness. Reiki Treatments A Reiki treatment is a simple, non-intrusive, yet powerful process. The Reiki practitioner channels the Reiki healing energy to the client by gently placing the hands in key position on the body. The client lies on a massage table and is fully clothed during the treatment. The Reiki treatment may include chakra clearing and balancing. The client typically experiences a feeling of complete relaxation and inner peace. Some individuals feel tingling or warm sensations. Reiki helps reduce anxiety, pain and stress and increases the energy flow within the body. While Reiki is not a substitute for treatments prescribed by a doctor, it compliments all other treatments.
